A dome-shaped museum located on the low hill near the center of the explosion displaying 1500 preserved documents and personal mementos. You can get an easy understanding of atomic bombs with a design of exhibitions performing a plot with wishes for peace and also describing the devastating terrors of an atomic bomb and the history of nuclear weapons.

In the permanent collection exhibition room, the status of Nagasaki is described prior to the explosion of the atomic bomb as the titled “August 9th in 1945”, in which the hands of the clock placed at the entrance of the exhibition room is stopped at 11:02, indicating the time bomb was dropped. In the exhibition corner of “Damage caused by the atomic bomb”, the large-sized exhibitions such as a damaged water tank and a fire watchtower are displayed.
The melted glass and a rosary by the heat of the bomb or blaze visibly indicate how serious the damages were.

In the corner of “A world without nuclear weapons”, the history of wars is chronologically shown, which explains the process until the drop of the atomic bomb. The updated- nuclear weapons are still developing and the abolition of nuclear weapons is appealed. Learn about atomic bombs through images in the video room. There is a question corner about the atomic bomb, in which all generations from kids to adults will learn about the atomic bomb precisely.

  • The history and folklore documents of Nagasaki are displayed in the Nagasaki History and Folklore Museum on the basement floor of the Peace Hall.
  • In the Nagasaki City Noguchi Yataro Memorial Museum on the first floor, about 40 works by him are displayed.
