Onneto is the westernmost lake in Akan Mashu National Park. It is also called Goshikinuma (a five-colored lake) because the lake changes its color to five different colors depending on the season, time of day, and angle of view. The lake is only 2.5 kilometers in circumference and can be walked around in about 40 minutes, allowing visitors to enjoy the colorful scenery.

The color is usually cobalt blue, but when the mountain trees turn green, the lake reflects the green mountains, and the lake turns green; when the leaves turn red, the lake reflects the red leaves, and the lake turns red; and depending on the time of day and season, the lake can also appear purple or white.

Onneto, created by nature, is a spot where you can feel as if you are receiving immense power from nature just by taking a stroll. If you visit Hokkaido, we highly recommend seeing it for yourself.
