A mysterious lake district with various colors of water bodies.
An explosion of steam gave birth to hundreds of lakes and ponds in 1888. About 30 of large and small lakes such as Bishamon, Aka, Midoro, Tatsu, and Benten are called Goshikinuma Ponds, which won 1-star in the Michelin Green Guide in 2016.
Goshikinuma does not mean five ponds but that they have a variety of colors which are caused by weather, season, volcanic elements in the water.
Emerald green, cobalt blue, turquoise - each pond has a different color, and the beauty brought the name “the Mysterious Lake District.” Aonuma’s color is out of this world and a must-see!
You can enjoy hiking along the ponds on the Goshonuma Pond Trail, roughly 4km / 80-minute-long. On the largest Bishamon Pond, try a rowboat. When snowy winter comes, you can don snowshoes and hike around.
Seasons and the time of day change the appearance of the area. Visit again and again to discover a new scene.

裏磐梯レイクリゾートのスノーシューツアーで冬の五色沼に行きました。
ウェアも全部レンタルなので手ぶらで参加可能です。ガイドさんがスノーシューズの扱い方など詳しく教えてくれます。
雪道を進むと美しい五色沼が見えてきます。途中動物たちの足跡や、元気なリスの姿も見ることができました！
美しい景色を見ながら、雪の上にポトリと落としたメープルシロップと温かいティーは最高です！
往復約2.5km、ゆっくりと2時間ほどかけて進むので危険も少なく、普段運動をしない方でも楽しめると思います。
その日の天気や日の光、角度で変わる美しい色をした五色沼を満喫できました！
