Last update :

Nicholas Tower was designated as a Japan Nightscape Heritage in 2020. It stands at the top of Asahikawa Santa Present Park, a ski slope at 330m above sea level. This is the symbol of the ski slope, opened to the public for a limited season.

From the observation deck at 50m above ground, you can see in the distance a magnificent scenery of the northern land such as Biei Hill, Mt. Daisetsuzan, and Mt. Tokachi. At night, this Japan Nightscape Heritage is a popular tourist spot, offering a sweeping view of the twinkling Asahikawa City.

This tower is also selected as a Lover’s Sanctuary, a place worthy of proposing marriage. On the 1st floor of the tower, the so-called Lover’s Bell is set up. The tradition for dates is to ring the bell with a loved one, write your wish on a card and put it on a tree next to the bell. As the name of the park suggests, Mr. Santa may make your wish come true.
