Located in the "Maze Town" area, with its irregular narrow streets near the popular Shodoshima tourist spot "Angel Road," the Yokai Art Museum is a complex of four galleries that utilize old buildings to exhibit yokai art.

The four galleries scattered throughout "Maze Town" house a collection of over 900 yokai art pieces from around the world. Gallery 1, which is housed in a former kimono shop's storehouse, mainly displays yokai from Japanese folklore, such as kappa, gyuki, and nekomata. One of the floors in the gallery allows visitors to view the artworks while illuminating them with handheld flashlights. The popular Dodéca Yokai, which you can enter and peek outside through its nostrils, can be found in Gallery 2, which was once a soy sauce warehouse. Gallery 3 hosts rotating exhibitions that change themes several times a year, and Gallery 4 is famous for its powerful yokai ceiling paintings that emerge from the darkness. The displayed yokai are frequently replaced, so visitors can enjoy a fresh experience each time they visit.

After viewing the exhibits, take a break at the "Yokai Bar," where yokai are said to gather, and enjoy yokai drinks adorned with charms and omikuji fortune slips.
