Last update :

Located in "Ginzan Onsen", known since the Edo period as a renowned hot spring, this place first opened its doors as a town diner in Showa 27 (1957). In 2013, it underwent renovations, transforming a 140-year-old traditional home, and reopened in its current location as both a cafe and eatery.

The establishment's specialty is "soba" (buckwheat noodles), made following a traditional method passed down through the generations. The soba, made from "Mogamiwase" buckwheat flour sourced from Obanazawa in Yamagata Prefecture, can be enjoyed with a homemade broth derived from bonito. A must-try is the "Age Nasu Oroshi Soba", featuring deep-fried eggplant generously placed atop. Special lunch sets are available. During dinner, diners can savor dishes made from Yamagata's seasonal ingredients, complemented by sake appetizers. Set meals and course meals (which require reservations two days in advance) are also on offer.

During the cafe hours, indulge in desserts like the renowned soba parfait and original drinks made from Yamagata's branded fruits — perfect for a break during a hot spring town exploration.
