Shimane Winery

Located about a 5-minute drive from Izumo Taisha Grand Shrine, this tourist-oriented winery was established in 1986 with the aim of utilizing Izumo's house grapes, a nationally renowned specialty. The Delaware grapes harvested from April to June are especially popular for their high sugar content and juicy, rich flavor. The wines, carefully brewed using high-quality local grapes, have recently received high accolades in various competitions.

The winery features a charming, foreign-styled site with brick roofs, including the "Wine Brewing Hall" where visitors can observe the wine-making process for free, a barbecue house, and the "Tasting and Direct Sales Hall Bacchus" which offers a wide range of wine tastings and souvenirs. About 10 types of wine, including regular, seasonal recommendations, and new products, are available for free tasting. Non-alcoholic grape drinks are also available for those who do not consume alcohol or for children. Visitors can purchase their favorite wines on the spot.

The restaurant, where you can enjoy the local brand beef "Shimane Wagyu" in barbecue style, and the wine bar, offering premium wines at reasonable prices, are also recommended.
