Mochio Park

The cherry blossom tunnel, boasting unparalleled beauty in Kyushu, is splendid.

Last update :

The only park in Miyazaki Prefecture selected as one of "Japan's Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots," this is a cherished spot for locals. From late March to early April, approximately 2,600 cherry trees, including Somei Yoshino and Yaezakura, bloom, vividly coloring the entire park.

Especially impressive is the cherry blossom tunnel that stretches about 2 kilometers to the hilltop Mochio Shrine. The view of the cherry-lined path from the shrine is spectacular, with a carpet of cherry blossoms filling your sight. During this season, the "Miyakonojo Mochio Cherry Blossom Festival" is held, bustling with folk entertainment and food stalls.

Near Mochio Park, "Kumaso Square" offers large playground equipment suitable for children from toddlers to elementary school students, attracting many families, especially on weekends. The wide lawn area is perfect for ball games, badminton, and picnicking. The view from the observation deck, overlooking the Kirishima mountain range, is also breathtaking.
