Toya Lake Cruise
Enjoy a relaxing cruise on Lake Toya, taking in panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and seasonal fireworks from the water.
A sightseeing boat that cruises around Lake Toya, formed by a volcanic eruption about 110,000 years ago. Departing from the station-side pier at Toyako Onsen, the 50-minute cruise offers stunning views of Mount Yotei, Showa-shinzan, Mount Usu, and the islands collectively known as Nakajima—including Ōshima, Bentenjima, Kannonjima, and Manjūjima.
From April to October, passengers can disembark on Ōshima Island, where they can explore a museum, a shrine, relax at a lakeside café nestled in the forest, or enjoy walks surrounded by nature. Several trekking courses are available, ranging from 45 minutes to 3 hours, so be sure to plan enough time if you're interested.
Additionally, during the Lake Toyako Long Run Fireworks Display held from April to October, special fireworks cruises are operated. The fireworks are launched along a 2 km stretch over the lake, and the boat moves with the display, allowing passengers to enjoy the fireworks from an optimal viewing angle throughout the cruise.
Two types of boats operate: the Espoir, designed to resemble a medieval castle, and the Yotei—be sure to experience the unique charm of the Espoir at least once!
