Gyuya Kiyoshi
A long-established sukiyaki restaurant dedicated to Joshu Beef and other ingredients from Gunma.
“Gyuya Kiyoshi” is a specialty restaurant serving sukiyaki and shabu-shabu, with more than 60 years of history. It offers dishes made with local ingredients, including Joshu Beef, a Gunma brand of beef.
The sukiyaki lets you enjoy the mellow fat and aroma of A5-grade Joshu Kuroge Wagyu. It pairs perfectly with the warishita broth. The shirataki, made from Gunma-grown konjac potatoes, absorbs plenty of broth and adds a rich texture. From December to February, you can also try a seasonal sukiyaki featuring sweet Shimoniita green onions. Fresh locally grown vegetables such as shiitake mushrooms, chrysanthemum greens, and enoki mushrooms are also available. The shabu-shabu uses the same Joshu Beef, offering a lighter taste that brings out the meat’s natural flavor.
The restaurant has a calm, detached-house-style design. It offers private rooms and tatami seating, and can accommodate at least 100 guests. Located along the Tone River with views of Mt. Haruna, it also offers beautiful seasonal scenery. In summer, you can enjoy the Maebashi Fireworks Festival right in front of you, and the restaurant continues to be loved by both visitors and locals.
