Tsukuda no Tsukudani “Kaga no Hakuho”

Tsukuda Foods is a long-established tsukudani maker in Kanazawa that values the natural flavors of its ingredients and artisan craftsmanship, while remaining committed to making products without food additives such as preservatives and artificial coloring. “Kaga no Hakuho,” an arrangement of Kanazawa’s specialty simmered walnuts, has been the company’s signature product and has been loved for 60 years since its launch in 1965.

Inside the monaka wafer shaped like a walnut shell is a generous filling of simmered walnuts cooked with Kanazawa rice syrup, known for its refined sweetness. Made with a sweet-and-savory flavor that preserves the rich aroma of walnuts, this tsukudani is said to pair well not only with Japanese tea and coffee, but also with wine, beer, and sake.
