Misakikan Honten is a long-established traditional Japanese inn and restaurant located directly in front of Misaki Port. It was founded in 1908 as an inn for beachgoers. It also has the distinction of serving Japan’s first maguro kabuto-yaki, and over its long history, it has become a deeply rooted part of the local community.

At Misakikan Honten, great care is taken to serve the finest seasonal ingredients at their very best. The restaurant is known for its wide variety of dishes centered on tuna. Its signature menu item is maguro kabuto-yaki (advance reservation required). This is Misakikan Honten’s original dish and was the first of its kind to be cooked on land in Japan. Other options include the Tuna Set Meal, Tuna Sashimi Set Course, and Tuna Steak Set Course. The Maguro Zukushi course, which lets you enjoy chutoro, otoro, and kama steak all at once, is also popular.

The restaurant has private rooms available by reservation. It can accommodate groups and families. Its location facing Misaki Port is another draw. You can relax and enjoy your time while taking in the sea breeze and sound of the waves from the port.
