A Japanese restaurant in the Yahiko Onsen area of Niigata. Run by five generations since its founding in the early Showa era, it is known for dishes made with locally sourced ingredients such as fresh local fish landed at nearby fishing ports.

A signature dish recommended for first-time visitors is the “Original Yahiko Special Wappa Meshi Set,” made with locally grown specially cultivated Koshihikari rice called “Iyahiko-mai,” steamed in its serving vessel with a special broth and lavishly topped with salmon and salmon roe. Another longtime favorite for over 30 years is the “Large Squid Menchi,” known for its Approx. 15 cm diameter and rich squid flavor. Other popular menu items include fresh local sashimi, grilled eel rice boxes cooked with a secret sauce, and Inaniwa udon. There is also a wide selection of local sake from Niigata, a region famous for its rice.

Located along the approach to Yahiko Shrine, Echigo’s top-ranked shrine with a history of Approx. 2,400 years and a popular power spot, the restaurant is always bustling with visitors. In addition to tatami seating, private rooms are also available for a relaxed meal.
