One must-try item at Sekaizushi is the “nodoguro aburidon”, an especially popular dish that features a hefty portion of nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), over a bed of rice. Nodoguro is a luxury fish that boasts amazing flavors when raw, but can also be enjoyed for its aromatic and mouth-watering flavor when flash-seared. For an extra luxurious touch, instead of soy sauce, it’s served with a high-end, natural sea salt made from the clear waters of the Sasagawa Nagare Coastline, a national Natural Monument of Scenic Beauty.
Guests may also enjoy a full selection of Niigata delicacies, including a wide variety of craft sakes to pair and “noppe” (a stew packed with local vegetables with a velvety texture from “satoimo” taro).
