MoN Takanawa: The Museum of Narratives

A multidisciplinary museum that aims to create and share new culture for the future from Takanawa, Tokyo, with a mission to “carry culture forward 100 years.”
The museum hosts programs and events spanning a wide range of fields, including art, design, technology, and traditional culture. Events take place in its many distinctive spaces, including the approximately 1,500-square-meter “Box1500” and “Tatami,” an approximately 162-square-meter tatami space offering experiences that combine Japanese culture and technology.
In addition to exhibition spaces, the museum has a plaza, terraces, a cafe, restaurants, and shops. Visitors can experience culture not only through viewing exhibits, but also through food and interaction. The rooftop features the “MoN Farm,” where vegetables and herbs are grown alongside seasonal flowers, plants, and fruit trees, as well as the “Hanami Terrace,” offering an open-air atmosphere in the heart of the city.
With direct access from JR Takanawa Gateway Station, the museum welcomes a diverse range of visitors from Japan and abroad. It is drawing attention as a new hub for exchange that will carry culture forward for the next 100 years.
