Last update :

This Japanese restaurant operates by reservation only and is quietly situated on a hill about a 10-minute drive from Takayama Station. Surrounded by Hida's abundant natural beauty, guests can savor the flavors of each season in a peaceful atmosphere.

The owner personally ventures into the mountains and rivers to source many of the ingredients, carefully selecting the finest produce each season has to offer. Guests can savor the seasonal bounty of Hida, including wild mountain vegetables in spring, wild ayu sweetfish and other river fish in summer, wild mushrooms in fall, and game supplied by trusted hunters in winter.

Each ingredient is carefully prepared to bring out its natural qualities, creating flavors found only here. Meals are served as courses. Options include the Seasonal Delights Course; the Chef's Choice Course, featuring seasonal dishes alongside Hida beef; the Hida Beef Course, showcasing the renowned local beef; and the Hida Beef Shabu-Shabu Course.

For those who want to enjoy a leisurely meal in private, Rakumian, a detached dining annex with an irori hearth, is available for exclusive use. The views are another highlight, with the Northern Alps visible during the day and Takayama's city lights at night.
