The town's Enai and Zogo districts have a variety of attractions, including heritage sites along the old Konpira pilgrimage routes, such as torii gates and stone lanterns, as well as historic sites associated with local legends like the Seven Wonders of Naeta, Kagawa Canal facilities, and Mt. Nyoi. The wider Konpira area surrounding Mt. Zozu also has historic sites from the Kofun period, the 24 shrines of Sanuki Province listed in the Engishiki records, and sites associated with local heroes such as Kukai and Okubo Jinnojo. Views of Mt. Zozu and Mt. Iino from Zogo have captivated many painters. You can take in these views on cycling tours organized by the Tourism and Community Development Association and through other activities.

The main options are taxis and rental bicycles. The main approach to Kotohira-gu Shrine is about a 10-minute walk from JR Kotohira Station, Kotoden-Kotohira Station, or the municipal West Parking Lot. From the approach, however, there are 785 stone steps to the shrine, so take your time and avoid overexerting yourself.

The municipal West Parking Lot is south of JR Kotohira Station, and private paid parking lots are located throughout the town.

Visitors who have difficulty reaching the shrine on foot can make a reservation through the Kotohira-gu Shrine website between 6 and 60 days in advance.
