MALIOS Observation Room
A mere 3-minute walk from the west exit of Morioka Station, the MALIOS building stands as the tallest skyscraper (92m in height) in the northeastern region of Tohoku and serves as Morioka city's landmark tower. Come Christmas time, the entire building gets illuminated, turning it into a radiant beacon that enlivens the wintry Morioka.
This building is a multifunctional complex with offices, restaurants, shops, a performance hall, and art exhibition spaces all in one.
Koedo Kawagoe Ichibangai Shopping Street
"Kawagoe," which thrived as a crucial point for transporting food such as rice and vegetables to Edo using the "Shingashi River," still retains its historical charm. The town is lined with traditional storehouses, preserving the vibes of yesteryears. Owing to these traces of the past, it's fondly referred to as the modern-day Little Edo.

Warashi-yu Foot Bath
Situated at the entrance of Ginzan Onsen, a hot spring town lined with inns built from the Taisho to the early Showa period, is the communal footbath "Warashi-yu Foot Bath". Completed in 2001, this footbath is free of charge. It is located along the Ginzan River that runs through the center of the onsen town and uses the same source water that the Ginzan Onsen inns utilize. With thoughtful details such as the height of the wooden deck benches, visitors can relax and soak their feet in the footbath while enjoying the scenic view of the town.
The foot bath was completed in 2001 and is located right in the center of the hot spring street. 👍
Shirogane-no-taki Waterfall
Ginzan Onsen is a hot spring town where inns imbued with the charm of the Taisho era stand alongside the Ginzan River. A little further from the walking paths around the hot spring town, you'll find the naturally rich "Shirogane Park." At its entrance is the 22-meter drop, twin cascades known as "Shirogane-no-taki Waterfall."
Shirogane Park is a natural ecological park, and the 20-meter-high Shirogane Waterfall is one of its most famous attractions.
Sukayu Onsen
An Onsen resort with a long history that opened about 340 years ago. It is said that the name "Shika-no-yu" came from an anecdote about an injured deer that healed its wounds in the hot spring, and the name was changed to "Sukayu Onsen" in an accent.
The mixed-gender large bath—the cypress Sen'nin Bath—is an amazing hot spring with fantastic healing effects! ♨️
