It really tastes different from a typical Italian chain restaurant. The dishes don’t seem to use many elaborate seasonings, focusing instead on the flavors of the ingredients themselves. Hokkaido’s vegetables and seafood are especially distinctive to begin with, and when combined with traditional Italian cooking methods, the overall flavors are light yet layered.

There are so many drugstores around Tanukikoji that you'll see one every few steps. It's a great area to browse at your own pace and compare prices. SATUDORA is one of the easier stores to shop at, with a spacious interior and a wide selection of medicines, beauty products, daily necessities, and Hokkaido souvenirs. There's no need to buy everything at the first store you visit. Drugstores are packed closely together nearby, so you can browse around and compare prices before deciding. It makes shopping feel more like hunting for treasures.

When I stay at hotels in Japan, I usually don't book breakfast. I prefer going to LAWSON in the morning and choosing for myself—an onigiri today, a sandwich tomorrow, plus a cup of MACHI café. I can have a different combination every day. It's simple and doesn't get old easily.

Nishitetsu Grand Hotel

Nishitetsu Grand Hotel has been representing Fukuoka City since its foundation in 1969. It is located on the corner of Meiji dori and Tenjin Nishi dori, very close to the Tenjin subway station. A door man welcomes guests at the entrance and the hotel has a sophisticated and dignified atmosphere.

This time I stayed at the Nishitetsu Grand Hotel in Tenjin, and the location was really convenient! The Tenjin shopping district is right outside, with department stores, drugstores, convenience stores, and restaurants all nearby, so there was no need to worry about finding somewhere to shop or get a late-night snack.
Although the hotel has been open for quite some time, it is very well maintained. The lobby has the refined feel of a long-established hotel, and the staff were very friendly. The room was a little more spacious than a typical Japanese business hotel, and it didn't feel too cramped even with two large suitcases open. Overall, it was quite comfortable.

Fukui City Art Museum [Art Lab Fukui]

A municipal art museum in Fukui City. Guided by the concept of bringing “viewing” and “creating” together, it is a popular place for both appreciating and making art. The museum primarily collects and displays works by Hiroatsu Takata, a sculptor with ties to Fukui City. It also holds diverse special exhibitions inspired by his wide circle of friends, offering visitors exposure to a variety of artistic expression.

As soon as I walked into the museum, I noticed how well lit it was. Natural light poured in through the large glass windows, making the whole space feel very comfortable. It didn’t feel cramped or oppressive inside, so I felt relaxed while viewing the exhibits. I really liked this kind of design.

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, located in Shinjuku, is Tokyo’s centralized administration complex, comprised of three buildings: the First Main Office Building, the Second Main Office Building, and the Metropolitan Assembly Building. The First Main Office Building is home to a 45th floor Observation Deck, which is accessible by dedicated elevator on the 1st floor. In just 55 seconds the dedicated elevator will whisk you into the skies, to a height of 202 meters above ground and the sprawling view of Tokyo below.

Located along the Nakagawa River, this restaurant works both as a place for chuka soba, a light ramen-style noodle dish, and as an izakaya-style spot, making it a popular choice for ending the night. I saw this Tiger vacuum flask at the airport, and the design caught my eye right away. The raised pattern feels really nice to the touch, and it doesn’t feel like an ordinary insulated bottle.

The baristas are very professional in the way they brew the coffee, and you can see how much care goes into every detail. You can feel their commitment to coffee quality.
Watching the beans being roasted and the drinks being prepared on-site is very distinctive. It's a completely different experience from a typical Starbucks.

Okunitama-jinja Shrine

Okunitama Shrine, with a history stretching back about 1900 years, is where Okunitama-no-Okami, the deity protecting the Musashino area, is enshrined. Musashino was a vast area including modern-day Tokyo, Saitama, and parts of Kanagawa. Inside the shrine grounds are several smaller shrines, each one granting its own blessing. Among those, the shrine blessing love and marriage is especially well-known.

This place feels rich with history. The large trees lining the approach are really impressive, and the whole shrine has a dignified atmosphere without feeling too intimidating.
