Roppongi Hills has a really polished, upscale feel. You can shop, eat, and see exhibitions all in one place, and it definitely feels like one of Tokyo’s more high-end areas.
The view from the Mori Tower observatory at night is amazing. Tokyo Tower is right in front of you, and the whole atmosphere is just perfect.
Daijoji Kyuryo Park
Located in southeastern Kanazawa, Daijoji Kyuryo Park offers abundant nature and expansive views from hilly terrain with an elevation difference of 83 m. The Grassy Hill midway up the slope is one of the park's most popular spots, offering panoramic views of Kanazawa from its gentle incline. On clear days, the view extends as far as the Sea of Japan.
This time, I happened to visit Daijoji Kyuryo Park when the hydrangeas were in full bloom. There were so many, in shades ranging from light blue and deep blue to purple. Walking among them felt like being surrounded by hydrangeas.
Kawa no Soba
After drinking around Nakasu, Fukuoka, Kawa no Soba is a place you will want to stop by. Located along the Nakagawa River, this restaurant works both as a place for chuka soba, a light ramen-style noodle dish, and as an izakaya-style spot, making it a popular choice for ending the night. It has counter seats that are easy to use even when visiting alone, as well as relaxed table seating, making it convenient as a second or third stop.
If you come here, you have to get the combo of chicken skin and chuka soba. The chicken skin is crispy on the outside and tender inside, and it’s so addictive. It doesn’t feel greasy like typical fried food at all.
The ramen is on the lighter side, with a soy sauce-based broth that has a gentle chicken aroma. You can finish the whole bowl without feeling weighed down.
I also highly recommend the oden. It has that classic Japanese oden flavor, with a soft texture and just a bit of chew. Every bite is packed with flavor.
Le Gaulois Furano
Nestled within the grounds of the Shin Furano Prince Hotel, Le Gaulois Furano is an Italian restaurant that seamlessly blends into the surrounding forest with its softly curved architecture. The warm, wooden interior creates a cozy and intimate atmosphere, making it the perfect spot to share special moments with loved ones.
If you come to Furano in winter, you definitely have to visit this place. The snowy night view is seriously postcard-perfect. Looking out through the large windows is stunning, and the snow scenery paired with the wooden cabin atmosphere feels so uniquely Hokkaido.
