Emperor Kameyama of the Kamakura period saw the moon slowly moving above the bridge and thought it looked like the moon was crossing it, so the bridge was named Togetsukyo Bridge. Also, nearby Horinji Temple has a tradition called Jusan Mairi, in which 13-year-old children pray for wisdom. On the way back across Togetsukyo Bridge, they must not look back, or the wisdom they just gained will disappear. Later, a legend also arose that couples crossing the bridge must not look back, or they will break up. This was also a filming location for Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter. It's really beautiful, and I think it would be even prettier when the maple leaves turn red.

LeTAO Otaru Main Store
Known for its "Fromage Double" cheesecake made from Hokkaido-produced fresh cream and carefully selected mascarpone cheese, this confectionery store in Otaru enjoys nationwide popularity. Located at the tourist-frequented Märchen Crossroads in Otaru, LeTAO Main Store opened in 1998. The store's name, meaning "Dear Tower of Otaru," is reflected in its impressive European-style exterior reminiscent of a large tower.
This place is best known for its Double Fromage cheesecake. The top layer is a light, melt-in-your-mouth cheese mousse, while the bottom is a dense, delicate cake. The combination of the two different textures gives it a lot of depth, and overall it's really good. It's perfect with black tea, which is smooth and not astringent, balancing the rich cheesecake nicely. The second floor is the dining area, and they also serve regular meals at lunchtime.
The first floor is a souvenir shop where you can sample cookies while browsing for souvenirs you like. They have a black tea chocolate sandwich cookie that I buy every time I visit. It's become my regular souvenir. If you come to Otaru, I really recommend setting aside some time at LeTAO for dessert and souvenir shopping!

Hasegawa Store Bay Area
Founded in 1958, this local convenience store chain operates 13 locations in and around Hakodate. Stocked with a wide variety of bento meals, drinks, and baked goods, it has long been loved by locals under the nickname “Hasesuto.”
This is a Hakodate-only store. If there were an option for ten stars, I'd give this place ten stars. This is the best salt-flavored grilled skewer bento I've ever had. Unfortunately, there's a little too little meat, but the rice soaks up the fat from the meat, so even the rice alone is very tasty. I recommend eating it once a day whenever you're in Hakodate.

Tanukikoji Shopping Street
Tanuki Koji Shopping Street, with over 145 years of history is one of Hokkaido’s oldest shopping streets. It’s located in the center of Sapporo, stretching 900 meters from east to west with some 200 different shops. It has an arcade-style covered roofing, meaning you can enjoy shopping, dining, or an easy stroll no matter what the weather.
One thing you definitely shouldn't miss in Sapporo is a late-night parfait. The place in the photo is Parfaiteria miL in Tanukikoji Shopping Street. It's open until midnight, making it perfect for a parfait after shopping. The parfaits here aren't only delicious; they're also beautifully presented, and each one looks like a delicate work of art. When your order arrives, it comes with a sheet explaining in detail all the ingredients used in the parfait. You can slowly figure out what's in each layer as you eat, which makes it even more interesting. Tanukikoji Shopping Street itself is also great for browsing, with all kinds of drugstores, capsule toy shops, and souvenir stores along the way. You can find almost everything you want to buy in one place. If you come to Sapporo, I highly recommend spending a full day exploring Tanukikoji, then having a late-night parfait after buying cosmetics and souvenirs.
