Neo Park Okinawa in Nago is a super relaxing family destination! Besides riding a retro train around the park, you can get up close and feed flocks of waterfowl and other cute animals in the huge aviary. Don't miss the park's hugely popular, adorably goofy red pandas. If the summer heat gets to you, you can escape to the indoor cafe and dining area, relax in the air conditioning with a meal, and watch the adorable red pandas and other animals up close!

Umikaji Terrace
Senaga Island with a 1.8km circumference is connected to Naha Airport with a marine road. This is where a multi resort facility stands. White buildings line the slope facing the emerald green ocean. It looks like a little town. The beauty was designed after the European resorts such as the Amalfi Coast in Italy and Santorini Island on the Aegean Sea.
Arriving at Umikaji Terrace on Senaga Island, it really felt like I had instantly traveled to a little piece of Greece. Rows of pure white, terraced buildings are scattered across the hillside, and against the blue sky and white clouds, the view is so dreamy that you can't help but be amazed.
This time, I specifically planned to find a café with an ocean view, enjoy some delightful pancakes, and watch huge airplanes roar past. After eating, you can walk straight out to the terrace for a stroll. From there, you get a completely unobstructed view of planes taking off and landing, while also looking out over the layered shades of Okinawa's breathtaking blue ocean.
The relaxed and romantic atmosphere here is truly charming. Whether you want to unwind or take beautiful photos, it's perfect. If you're traveling around southern Okinawa, I highly recommend visiting this beautiful place.

Miyakojima’s Yukishio “Yukishio Sand“
Yukishio Sand is a popular Okinawan souvenir made with Yukishio-a fine powder salt crystallized from seawater drawn 22 meters underground in Miyakojima. This unique salt retains the natural minerals of the sea, giving it a distinctive mellow flavor.
These Yukishio cookies are definitely one of my favorite Okinawan souvenirs. They offer a wide variety of products, including their classic sandwich cookies, langue de chat cookies, and the richer, more substantial butter toast series. Every one of them is well worth buying.
Made with natural Yukishio salt unique to Miyakojima, they have just the right touch of natural saltiness, paired with a perfectly balanced sweetness in the filling. The combination of sweet and salty is truly delicious. I still remember trying the ice cream with cookies at the store, and that wonderful flavor was unforgettable. After returning to Taiwan, I missed it so much that I even bought vanilla ice cream to eat with the Yukishio cookies, hoping to recreate that same feeling.
If you're choosing an Okinawan souvenir, this should definitely be at the top of your must-buy list. I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Pork Tamago Onigiri – Makishi Market Branch
If you’re visiting Okinawa, don’t miss the chance to try Pō-tama-a beloved local specialty served up at this dedicated shop.
One of the most unforgettable foods from this trip was definitely Okinawan onigiri. Ever since I had my first one in American Village, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. It truly deserves its reputation as an incredibly popular local favorite.
Although it looks like just rice wrapped in nori, it's paired with a thick, tender Japanese omelet and a variety of main fillings. Each one is made fresh and served piping hot, and every bite is pure happiness. I especially recommend trying the classic Okinawan bitter melon flavor. The slightly bitter, crisp texture goes surprisingly well with the meat and egg combination.
If you want to experience the lively atmosphere of the popular original location, you can line up at Makishi Public Market. If you're short on time, you can also easily get one at the airport branch on your way home, which is very convenient. I strongly recommend making time to try it when visiting Okinawa. The flavor is simple yet unforgettable, and I still couldn't stop thinking about it after leaving.
