Along the open lakeshore of the park, looking up reveals warm sunlight streaming down from the clear blue sky. Together with the shimmering water and branches covered in autumn-red leaves, the scenery is very charming.

On the flat, comfortable stone-paved paths, you can often see pigeons or waterbirds strolling leisurely, adding some liveliness and fun to a relaxing afternoon.

Standing beside the historic stone walls and moat, you can feel the unique atmosphere created by the blend of history and nature, while completely calming your mind and relaxing.

I highly recommend adding Ohori Park to a walking itinerary in Fukuoka. Whether you want to enjoy a relaxing walk around the lake, admire the waterfront scenery, or experience the city's slow-paced natural rhythm, it will add a pleasant and beautiful touch to your trip!

When I reached the huge stone torii gate of Haritsuna Shrine, I looked up at the gold-lettered plaque and the shrine grounds surrounded by lush green trees. Gentle breezes drifted by, filling the air with a sacred and tranquil atmosphere.

Standing before the stone steps, I slowly made my way into the shrine. As I walked along the solid stone path, the old stone lanterns and traditional buildings on both sides gave off a profound sense of history, naturally calming my mind.

Actually standing at the birthplace of the Inuyama Festival and experiencing the sacred grounds of this traditional festival makes you want to slow down and carefully appreciate every detail of this centuries-old shrine.

If you get the chance, you should definitely come and experience the festival at least once.
Inuyama Castle

The Inuyama Castle keep is one of five deemed national treasures in Japan. It’s especially famous for remaining today as the oldest watchtower-style keep in Japan. It’s said it was built in 1537 by Oda Nobuyasu, the father of Oda Nobunaga.

When I reached the entrance of Inuyama Castle, a National Treasure, the wind carried the dry chill of winter. Looking up at this famous wooden castle, home to the oldest surviving castle keep in Japan, its weathered wood grain and solid stone walls truly conveyed the weight of history.

Holding the ticket I had just bought, I took a commemorative photo in front of the old castle, then climbed the wooden stairs step by step. The solid sound of wood beneath my feet made me feel as though I had stepped back into the Sengoku period.

After some effort, I reached the wooden veranda on the top floor of the castle keep. Leaning against the low railing and looking out, I saw an endless cityscape beneath the gray-white sky and the Kiso River flowing below the castle. Feeling the breeze brush against my face was truly breathtaking.

Actually standing inside this centuries-old castle and seeing with my own eyes the scenery once viewed by Sengoku-era warriors created such a vivid sense of being there that I couldn't bring myself to leave.

I highly recommend going all the way to the top of Inuyama Castle to experience it for yourself. Whether touching the weathered traces left by history up close or standing outside the castle keep and taking in the sweeping view of the Kiso River, it will leave you with incomparably vivid memories of your trip!
Chubu Electric Power MIRAI TOWER　

The tower is Nagoya’s symbol, built as Nagoya TV Tower for tourism and TV broadcast and completed in 1954. In 2011, TV signals were switched from analog to digital and its function as a consolidated radio tower was ended.

A stroll around the “Nagoya TV Tower” in Hisaya-odori Park. If you want to experience the unique landmark appeal of Japan’s first completed consolidated radio tower, this steel structure blending modern design with a sense of history is definitely a must-visit spot in the Sakae area.

As soon as you reach the spacious outdoor plaza and lush park walkway below, you can look up and see the elegant retro tower, with its clean structural lines, soaring into the sky. It stands out beautifully against the sky and the surrounding modern shopping centers.

Up close, the tower’s intricate steel craftsmanship complements the outdoor stepped plaza and large electronic screens nearby. You can even see a seasonal skating rink and distinctive installations, giving the area a lively urban energy.

Looking out from around the observation deck or the plaza, you can take in the bustling streets of the Sakae shopping district. The unique blend of old and new is captivating enough to make you linger.

I highly recommend including Nagoya TV Tower in your walking itinerary around the city. Whether you want to admire the classic beauty of the tower’s architecture, enjoy the relaxed atmosphere of an urban oasis, or capture striking street scenes, it will add plenty of style to your trip!
