Private onsen in villa was amazing! Super comfy couch and lounge area with incredible panoramic landscape and ocean view. Bbq dinner inside a large tented area was great! Eating grilled meats outdoors and with woodfire stoves for warmth made the experience feel rustic and charming. The chef served us grilled buri, a style of cooking fish which he called local "soul food". I enjoyed interacting with the chef and staff. The bedroom was peaceful and relaxing - waking up to the panoramic view in the living room was wonderful. Breakfast was traditional Japanese style which was a new experience.

Taiza Crab at Kyotango Ryugu Project
Rice bowl making experience at a local inn using crabs caught in Taiza, Japan's leading crabbing area. The female snow crabs used as an ingredient are on the smaller side, but the rich miso, bubbly textured roe (fertilized), and unfertilized roe on the inside of the shell are widely enjoyed as delicacies.
Amazing food experience! We made hand roll and nigiri sushi and crab row bowls. We also had bbq crab and crab hot pot. Everything was delicious and the old ladies who organized the experience were so friendly and cute! They have sea kayaking in summer, so I'll return for that!

I enjoyed the tea ceremony and the class, the teacher was very old and cute. Her English was actually very good, though she only said a few set phrases like "make yourself at home." The small snacks included in the tea ceremony were delicious! The restaurant has an incredible array of matcha dishes and one of the waiters could speak English very well. The restaurant was beautiful and the presentation of the food was so nice.

The Old Halls of Toyosato Elementary School
The old halls of Toyosato Elementary School, located in Ōmihachiman, Shiga Prefecture, were designed by the office of the architect Vories, who developed his work across Japan from 1908. Even among the over 1,000 works by Vories, this public elementary school is quite peculiar. At the time, it was furnished with leading-edge facilities such as reinforced concrete buildings, long, wide hallways, an independent library, and more. Enjoy touring around the old school buildings, dubbed "the best elementary school in the East", with a Toyosato Travel Guide.
Charming old tourguide who was an OB. K-on club room. Seeing k-on otaku enjoying their time. Tea after tour and casual conversation with tourguide.
