For tourists, there isn't much to Tokyo Tower itself besides the observation deck. There's a food court with about 4–5 places, but they gradually start closing after 7:30 p.m. During peak season, there are many foreign visitors, especially Westerners, so I was pretty dumbfounded to find there was nowhere to have dinner. I think the best way to get good photos is to stand outside and take some shots from those Instagrammable angles you see all over the internet. There's really no need to go up Tokyo Tower.

Lake District of Goshikinuma
An explosion of steam gave birth to hundreds of lakes and ponds in 1888. About 30 of large and small lakes such as Bishamon, Aka, Midoro, Tatsu, and Benten are called Goshikinuma Ponds, which won 1-star in the Michelin Green Guide in 2016.
This attraction isn't at a very high elevation, and the route is manageable on foot, so it's a bit more comfortable. It's beautiful and refreshing. You can enjoy the peace and quiet here while walking, stretching, and taking deep breaths. There are also warnings to watch out for bears. The trails here are mostly rocky, so they may be a little slippery. There are quite a few visitors, and you'll see other people every few minutes, so it doesn't feel remote or unsafe. Still, I recommend not coming alone.

Okama Crater Lake (Goshiki Lake)
Lake Gokako, situated at the highest elevation within the Zao mountain range, is a volcanic crater lake. Enclosed by three peaks - Kattadake, Kumano Peak, and Goshikidake - this lake spans a diameter of 325 meters and has a circumference of about 1 km. Due to varying factors such as season, time of day, weather, and temperature, the lake's water changes in colors, ranging from deep green, blue, to emerald green. This has earned it the moniker " Goshiki Lake (Five-Colored Lake)." The serene shimmer of the lake's surface contrasts sharply with the rugged volcanic walls, creating a profound sense of natural beauty.
We had bad luck that day—the fog was so thick that we couldn't see anything….. It was really disappointing… We stayed for a while hoping we might get a chance to see it, but we still couldn't…. There's nothing you can do when the weather doesn't cooperate. The wind here was also extremely strong, and it occasionally felt like there was some rain mixed in, so the indoor facilities were really important. The hot food at the shop was very popular! There was also a small souvenir section to browse. Would I come back next time? My answer is no. Coming once was enough, and I wouldn't make a special trip to see that crater lake.

Kobe Animal Kingdom
This is an all-weather zoo and botanical garden with the theme of interaction. In the park, which realistically reproduces natural scenery, visitors can get up close and personal with animals that live in a near free-range environment. In addition to feeding and camel rides, there are also performances to learn about the ecology of the animals.
An indoor zoo that's great for all ages. The visitor flow, sense of space, and hygiene are all very well managed. It's also convenient for strollers and wheelchairs, and there are plenty of seats where you can have a light meal or a drink. The gift shop merchandise is great too, and all the animals are super cute! Adult admission is JPY 2,400, but at Sannomiya Station you can buy a package that includes round-trip train fare and admission for JPY 2,400. It's basically like getting the train tickets free~ Such a great deal!
