Nara Park really is a great place for the whole family to have fun. As soon as you get off, you’ll see deer everywhere around Nara Park. They’re not only inside the park—you may also come across some on the nearby roads. They’ll politely bow to you and ask for food, so please don’t hesitate to buy some deer crackers for them. But please don’t feed them anything other than deer crackers, as it could endanger their lives. Such a fun place!!! I recommend it to everyone.

Hokan-ji Temple (Yasaka Pagoda)
Located in Kyoto’s Higashiyama district, Hokan-ji is a Rinzai sect (Kennin-ji branch) temple most famous for its five-story pagoda, widely known as Yasaka no Tō. This iconic structure is one of Kyoto’s most recognizable landmarks. Legend points to the temples founding in 589 by Prince Shōtoku, with the current pagoda rebuilt in 1440 under Ashikaga Yoshinori. Designated as an Important Cultural Property of Japan.
You can see it from Ninenzaka and Sannenzaka in Kyoto. It looks very different from what we’ve seen on TV. Seeing it in person, you’ll be amazed by its grandeur and how it stands there. It’s a very traditional Japanese-style structure, and you can see the spirit of Japanese craftsmanship in it. I highly recommend everyone take a walk around and see it.

Mt. Otowa Kiyomizu-dera Temple
Opened in the year 778, the temple was registered as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1994. In the 130, 000 m2 area of the precincts spread out on the hillside of Mt. Otowa, there are more than 30 cathedrals and monuments, including national treasures and important cultural properties.
I visited Kiyomizu-dera Temple in person this April. Although it wasn't during the blooming season, so I couldn't see the beautiful sight of flowers in full bloom, these photos still show how vibrant it is. You can also tell from the photos that its influence and fame are beyond comparison with ordinary temples. When looking up at it from below, you can see that it was built by interlocking pieces of wood, unlike modern buildings reinforced with steel and concrete. It shows the craftsmanship and artistry of the Japanese artisans who built it. I’ll definitely visit again if I have the chance, and I invite everyone to come admire this traditional Japanese temple architecture!!

Kyoto Tower (Nidec The Kyoto Tower)
It is located right in front of Kyoto Station. It was designed in the shape of a lighthouse to illuminate Kyoto, and is the tallest building in Kyoto at 131 meters. It has been visited by over 32 million people since it opened in 1964.
After getting off the plane, I immediately took the Haruka. It was already dark, and as soon as I exited the station, the dazzling Kyoto Tower came into view. Since I was little, I had only ever seen it on TV in Detective Conan. When I finally saw it with my own eyes, the feeling was hard to put into words. Visitors who come here should experience this feeling too.
