One of the world's top ten dream destinations. The wisteria tunnel is a must-see! I highly recommend visiting Ashikaga Flower Park for the wisteria, not just cherry blossoms when you're in Japan. It's in Tochigi Prefecture, about a two-hour drive from central Tokyo, and getting there is pretty easy. If you take the train or JR, it's super convenient—there's even a direct JR line to Ashikaga Flower Park Station. It's just a three-minute walk from the station to the park, so it's really close and easy to get to. You can reach it from Tokyo in about two hours.

St. Mary's Cathedral, Tokyo
Located on a hill in Sekiguchi, Bunkyo Ward, this Catholic church has a long and storied history. It began in 1899 as a wooden Gothic-style chapel built for the École Française des Dames de Saint-Maur. In 1900, it became the chapel of the Sekiguchi Parish, and by 1920, it was elevated to serve as the Cathedral of Tokyo.
When visiting Tokyo, besides the bustling shopping districts and popular attractions, you can also plan a different kind of architectural tour.
St. Mary's Cathedral, Tokyo, designed by world-renowned architect Kenzo Tange, features a unique curved thin-shell structure that gives the building a futuristic appearance. Viewed from different angles, you can appreciate the beauty created by the interplay of lines, light, and shadow, combining a solemn presence with the distinctive charm of modern architecture.
Stepping inside feels like leaving the hustle and bustle of central Tokyo behind. In the peaceful atmosphere, you can appreciate the beauty of the architecture and let your mind settle.
If you enjoy distinctive architecture or want to find a place in Tokyo that's different from the usual tourist attractions, I highly recommend coming here to experience both architectural art and spiritual renewal.

DiverCity Tokyo Plaza
Welcomed by the gargantuan 19.7-meter, life-sized Unicorn Gundam statue, DiverCity Tokyo Plaza embodies its concept as a "theatrical urban space," offering a place to play, learn, relax, and just take in each moment of surprise and inspiration. Tantalize all five senses at this unforgettable destination that’s like none ever before.
When you come to Odaiba, you definitely shouldn't miss this lively shopping mall! Based on the concept of a “theatrical urban space,” DiverCity Tokyo Plaza brings together well-known international brands, restaurants, and specialty shops. Whether you're shopping, enjoying good food, or simply browsing, there's plenty of fun to be had.
The most eye-catching landmark here is, of course, the imposing Unicorn Gundam. Seeing it in person is truly spectacular, and it's also a classic photo spot when visiting Odaiba!
Since I visited on a holiday, the mall was packed with visitors inside and out. It was incredibly lively, with a cheerful atmosphere everywhere. Shopping, dining, and admiring the Gundam—you can enjoy it all in one place!

Tokyo Big Sight (Tokyo International Exhibition Hall)
As the largest convention facility in Japan, Tokyo Big Sight opened in 1996. A variety of events, exhibitions and conferences are held here all year long. It is also known as the venue for high-profile events such as the Tokyo Motor Show and Comiket, attracting attention from both Japan and overseas.
When visiting Tokyo, don’t miss this highly distinctive landmark! Tokyo Big Sight is one of Japan’s largest convention facilities. Its most eye-catching feature is the four massive inverted pyramid-shaped structures. The exterior looks both avant-garde and futuristic, making a strong impression even from a distance.
Inside, there are large exhibition halls and an international conference hall where all kinds of exhibitions and major events are held. Even when an exhibition draws huge crowds, the entire site is so expansive that it still feels open and not overly crowded.
Besides attending an exhibition, it’s also worth visiting just to admire the unique architecture and walk around the surrounding area! With its distinctive architectural design and spacious plaza, it is one of the most iconic sights in the Tokyo Bay area.
