It takes 120 minutes from Tokyo! Let's go to the Hitachi Seaside Park and viewing blooming 32,000 of flowers!

Hitachi Seaside Park is located at Ibaraki Prefecture with covering an area of 190 hectares. It is a famous attraction for viewing the booming flowers around the year. This is the second time we visit the park and want to introduce you more detail for Spring natural beauty.

After entering the park by East entrance and 15-minute walk you will see our purpose of this visit. The hill with flowers and Summer cypress.
We weren't lucky due to the “typhoon”, but the massive view was still attractive and beautiful.

Before reach to Summer cypress field you will see a field full of small white flowers, they are the flower of buckwheat. The buckwheat flower is white, beautiful and simple without strong smell.

After walk for awhile you will see Cosmoses field. Sunday is the perfect timing to see Cosmoses with friends and families. There were also many foreign visitors. Theplace I was standing was perfect location to take few fantastic photos.

Following the pathway will lead you to Summer cypress field. Although the weather wasn't perfect for flower viewing, but the hill was full of crimson Summer cypress which was absolutely gorgeous and amazing.

Summer cypress is “Kokia” in Japanese. It said that people produce the traditional Japanese broom by dry up the strem in the past, as it has quite hard hand feel compare with other strem from a plant. Usually Summer cypress turns the colour from green to crimson in Autumn.

The Summer cypress field usually full of visitors during the season. We took a shoot when a white and adorable dog was taking a break on top of the stone. It looked calmed and used to the action when its owner was taking photos of it.

Summer cypress also has been called “land caviar” due to its texture is similar to caviar. The seeds are used a food garnish called “Tonnburi (とんぶり)”. “Tonnburi (とんぶり)” usually re-produce into other products and are edible. Summer cypress is not been produced to brooms only, people also eat it which is very useful in the daily life.

There are not Summer cypress only during the season, as well as Common reed in height 2 ~ 3 meters, also Cosmoses in colour yellow and orange.

There are also many giant pumpkins in the field. Look! How lovely small dog!!! It is a pet-friendly park, which visitors are allowing to bring their pets into the area.

It takes 80 minutes Express train of JR Jōban Line to Katsuta Station and ride a bus to “Hitachi Seaside Park” about 20 minutes.

Although the park is not at Tokyo, but it definitely a recommended park for visit! In addition, the Kochia carnival is starting from late September to mid October so it's the perfect timing to visit.

Furthermore, there are 4.5 million nemophilas (baby blue eyes) stunning under the blue sky during late April to early May which is the most famous and best recommended place to visit during the period.
