Sato san’s Rest is located on a shopping street called Joyful Minowa, and visitors can enjoy a section of the city that has preserved the atmosphere of the good old days of Japan. The shopping street is 450 meters long, and it is lined with many different stores.

The surrounding area is packed with a variety of shops selling familiar Japanese foods, like yakitori, tempura, tonkatsu, mochi, soba, and Japanese sweets. Most stores are open from 10:00 until 19:00, and many of the shops are closed on Wednesdays.

There are two communal spaces that guests can use freely: a western-style room with tables and sofas, and a Japanese-style room with tatami mat flooring. The tatami room also has free coffee and tea available, so it’s great for relaxing and chatting with other guests. Incidentally, all rooms in the hostel are non-smoking.
