Last update :

This art facility was designed by artist Shinro Ohtake, and here visitors can actually stop and take a bath. It was created as a place to facilitate interaction between tourists, both domestic and foreign, and the Naoshima islanders.

The facility’s exterior reflects the world of Shinro Ohtake, while the interior is elaborate. Enjoy the pleasant blend of art and hot water in the scrapbook-method designed bathhouse, including the bathtubs, bath paintings, mosaics, and even restroom ceramics.

Visitors can also purchase original goods designed by Shinro Ohtake at the attendant booth by the entrance. Be sure to take a look at the t-shirts, perfect for wearing after taking a bath, as well as towels and tubs you can buy to bring home the public bath atmosphere.
