Yanmar Museum

The land, sea, and cities - you can learn about Yanmar’s three business fields through experiencing them in this museum.

Last update :

In 2013, which was Yanmar’s centennial anniversary, this museum was opened in Nagahama City, the birthplace of the founder. In 2019, it was renewed as an experience museum where visitors can learn by seeing, touching, and experiencing under the concept of "Let’ s try! ‘Exciting Future Challenge ."

The museum features the story theater that talks about the founder’s challenging spirit, who succeeded in downsizing a workable diesel engine for the first time in the world, and other contents that tickle your ambition. The main feature is that you can touch real machines. The experience of operating a mini-shovel car to carry a ball and the exciting marine pleasure experience of operating a pleasure boat are linked to Yanmar products that are used in the real world. Children, who will take our baton in the future, and adults alike will have fun.

There is Yanmar’s history corner. Observe plants and animals in the biotope. Dietary education through games and other spots that provide learning experiences about sustainable society. Enjoy locally grown rice and Yanmar’s original food at the cafe restaurant “Premium Marche BIWAKO.” The museum has an energy system that heats “Oniyanma ( Japanese dragonfly ) Hot Water” where you can soak your feet. Take in the huge panorama at “Oniyanma Overlook '' and renew your soul.
