In the 1970s, the area around Nishi-Shinsaibashi came to be known as "America-mura" because the warehouses were converted into stores that began selling used clothes, records, and miscellaneous goods that were imported from the west coast of the United States.

The symbol of the place is "Sankaku-koen/Triangle Park " in the center of the town. As the name implies, the triangular-shaped area is a popular meeting place and resting spot.
Across the street from the park is a famous TAKOYAKI (octopus dumplings) shop, "KONAMON (Flour-based foods)" such as TAKOYAKI has become a part of the culture of young people. There are also many symbolic buildings, such as "BIG STEP," which is a commercial facility that houses many businesses, such as a niche movie theater called “TANKAN” a wide array of live music clubs, and much more. Also, there is “RIBIA” a movable street screen that could be transformed into a stage and moved in front of Sankaku-koen.
In the midst of all this, Mitsu Hachimangu Shrine , built-in 749 that has been watching over the city for centuries, making it a city where you also can still feel the roots of history still deeply ingrained in the area.

America-mura is also a town of art, with the mural "PEACE ON EARTH" painted by Seitaro Kuroda in 1983, and the original America-mura street lights. • If you have enough time, it's worth stopping by for a look. Otherwise, Shinsaibashi and Dotonbori are already great for shopping.

This area is packed with American pop culture. If you have time, it's worth checking out.

  • After eating in Dotonbori, it's fun to come here and walk around. There are so many unique things to check out.

The whole area feels messy and dirty, with lots of fake goods around. It's easy to get disappointed if you're not careful.

Most of the shops here sell sneakers, trendy T-shirts, or secondhand clothes. It's mostly American-style stuff.
