BnA Alter Museum
A museum-style accommodation where you can stay in art works.
This is an accommodation-style museum where you can stay in an artwork space designed by artists. Following Koenji, it opened near the scenic Kamogawa River in Kyoto in 2019.
In Kyoto, up-and-coming contemporary artists collaborate with art directors and architects who are active mainly in the Kansai region. The 31 rooms with various concepts are "artworks you can stay in", created exclusively for each room. This is an irresistible space for art lovers, where they can fully experience the world view and inspiration derived from the works. A portion of the accommodation fee is returned to the artist, contributing to artist support.
The museum features a staircase-style gallery about 30 meters high, a museum shop, and a café and bar. In the public space, exhibitions and music events are regularly held, making it a community hub for artists and art fans from both Japan and abroad.
