Urasando Garden

Inside the traditional Japanese home on the back alley, cafes gather and serve Japanese sweets.

Last update :

This commercial complex is on the back alley a little off from Omote Sando’s main street and shares Japanese food and culture. A Japanese house, believed to have been built in 1947, was renovated to provide space for cafes offering Japanese sweets and the Popup Space where various events are held.

The 1st floor of the traditional home is a food court lined with cafes providing Japanese menu in an alley-like style. You can order sweets and drinks at any store and taste them at the eating space, terrace seats or anywhere in the home.

Four shops in all are at the food court - “Ujien,” the Japanese tea specialty shop in Kyoto, ”Mican Club” with creative desserts, “Riz Labo Kitchen,” serving gluten-free rice flour pan cakes, and “Yin Urasando,” the medicinal food cafe run by a medicinal chef/acupuncturist. (As of November 2022)

The whole 2nd floor is reserved for events such as exhibitions and cultural classes in the Japanese-style space.
