Hakodate Music Box Museum

The Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse area is an iconic location in the port town of Hakodate, and it is also a popular tourist spot home to various restaurants and shops. Hakodate Music Box Museum is in BAY Hakodate No.2, one of the warehouses in the area. The glittering interior is filled with gentle and beautiful timbres. Here you’ll find over 5,000 music boxes across 800 varieties, including Hakodate-exclusive ones featuring squids and original Shinsengumi. There is even a corner where you can experience handmaking music boxes. This is popular since you can choose both the body and tones for your music box, preferred glass accessories, and make your own completely unique music box.
It is about a 4-minute walk from the municipal railway’s “Jujigai stop.”
