Hokkaido Shiki-Saikan JR Hakodate Store

Located inside JR Hakodate Station, Hokkaido Shiki-Saikan offers more than 1,000 items, including popular Hakodate and Hokkaido sweets. Open from early in the morning, the store is crowded with people stopping by before boarding the train.

The store is divided into a general souvenir area and a specialty store area. The general souvenir area offers a wide variety of famous confectionaries representing Hokkaido, such as "Trappist cookies" and "Hakodate salt castella", which are go-to Hakodate souvenirs. In addition, products related to the Hokkaido Shinkansen are also available. The seafood and processed meat products corner in the area also offers a wide variety of processed foods unique to Hakodate, such as Matsumaezuke pickles and salted squid, which are ideal as a side dish with rice or as a snack. In addition, many visitors use the order cards displayed on panels to have products shipped directly from the production area, making them popular gifts for souvenirs.

The specialty store area includes famous Hakodate and Donan sweets stores and Ekiben (boxed lunches) stores, which are popular with both travelers and local citizens using the station.
