Last update :

The nature zoo is located in Choshi Valley, known for its scenic beauty alongside Kankakei on Shodoshima. The park is home to about 300 wild Japanese macaques that have been fed by humans. These macaques, designated as natural monuments of the prefecture, can be seen up close as they groom each other or huddle together for warmth. You can also enjoy feeding them.

Since the monkeys were originally wild, it is important to take precautions such as not touching them, not staring into their eyes, and not giving them any food other than what is sold at the park. Monkeys are also interested in people's belongings, so it's best to avoid carrying valuables to prevent them from being taken.

Just a short distance from the parking lot is the Choshi Waterfall, the largest on the island with a height of 21 meters and a width of 3 meters. You can enjoy the view from the observation deck built above the waterfall. Also, the 360-degree panoramic view of the island and the Seto Inland Sea from the summit observation deck of Sentakubo, where Monkey Kingdom is located, is a must-see. If you're traveling by car, it's recommended to use the "Shodoshima Skyline" to visit Kankakei as well.

    第一次近距離看到這麼多隻獼猴,真的有點興奮,光是看牠們彼此抓蝨子的畫面,就充滿趣味感!
