Chuukaichi Ryuuou

“Chuukaichi Ryuuou” in Yokohama, Kanagawa, is a hugely popular spot that has it all: “cheap, fast, and delicious.” It’s so well-known in Yokohama that almost everyone has heard of it. It’s not uncommon to see a line even before opening, and it’s always lively inside.

The signature dish, “Ryuuou Ramen,” is a hearty bowl topped with three meatballs designed to resemble a dragon’s crystal. The rich soup is packed with the flavor of stir-fried vegetables, and when it coats the noodles, the taste stands out even more.

You also won’t want to miss the “Ryuuou Special Gyoza,” said to get as many as 100 servings ordered in a single day at peak times. Each oversized dumpling is filled with plenty of ground meat and cabbage. Its thick, chewy wrapper is a big hit—and it’s a perfect match with beer.
