Nagata Tank Suji Nankinmachi Branch

Nagata Tank Suji, a popular teppanyaki restaurant originally based in Sannomiya, opened its second branch in Nankinmachi in March 2024, quickly becoming a bustling favorite.

The restaurant’s nostalgic interior, adorned with retro posters evoking early-Showa vibes, perfectly complements its diverse menu of classic Kobe "konamon" (flour-based dishes), such as okonomiyaki, yakisoba, and modan-yaki, featuring a variety of seafood and meat toppings.
Their signature dish is Gyusuji Bokkake, tender beef tendon and konjac slowly simmered for an entire day—a famous specialty from Nagata. Enjoy it on its own or as a topping for yakisoba and sobameshi (fried rice with noodles). Diners can choose from four house-made sauces: mild, spicy, extra-spicy, or the beloved "Bara Sauce."

Beyond their konamon specialties, the restaurant serves grilled seafood dishes featuring Akashi octopus and Setouchi oysters, Wagyu beef steak, and an extensive drink menu. There are also many exclusive dishes available only at the Nankinmachi location. Unlike the original shop, reservations are accepted, making it easier to plan your visit.
