The Westin Miyako Kyoto - Sukiya-style Annex KASUIEN
A renowned Sukiya-style architectural masterpiece, where guests can indulge in exquisite hospitality and natural hot springs.
At the end of a dedicated corridor on the 7th floor of The Westin Miyako Kyoto lies KASUIEN, a Sukiya-style annex brimming with traditional Japanese elegance. Originally designed in 1959 by renowned architect Togo Murano, this celebrated work of Sukiya architecture was renovated in 2020, retaining its historic charm while offering a refreshed, contemporary space.
Each of the 12 guest rooms provides a generously sized layout with separate living and bedroom areas, and no two rooms are alike. All are supplied with natural hot spring water drawn from Mount Kacho, with bathtubs crafted from Japanese umbrella pine or cypress-perfect for soothing away the fatigue of travel.
The grounds feature tranquil spaces such as the KASUIEN Garden, created with natural rock formations, and the White Sand Courtyard, designed to represent gourds and sake cups, offering an escape from the bustle of everyday life. Guests can also enjoy exclusive experiences, such as a special one-party-per-day dining plan and the attentive service of KASUIEN’s dedicated okami (female host), ensuring an exceptional stay down to the finest detail.
