Kyoto Modern Terrace

Situated in the Kyoto Kaikan, built in 1960 and extensively renovated to become the "ROHM Theatre Kyoto" in 2015, the "Kyoto Modern Terrace" is located on the second floor. This cafe and restaurant boasts a space that inherits the features of modernist architecture.

Upon ascending the staircase from the first floor, visitors are greeted by a spacious, open environment with a 5.7-meter high ceiling adorned with a tortoiseshell pattern. Large windows not only let in ample light but also offer views of Kyoto’s ever-changing seasonal landscapes. The terrace, with 40 seats, provides excellent views and is pet-friendly.

The menu includes "12-vegetable spaghetti," providing half the daily vegetable requirement, along with grilled dishes and salads rich in seasonal vegetables. Beverages include cold brew coffee using beans from "Ogawa Coffee," original matcha drinks, and a variety of sweets including French toast made with "Shinshindo" bread, toasted upon order, ensuring a relaxing cafe experience.
