Akashiyaki Go
Authentic Akashiyaki from Akashi, made with 100% jin-ko and fragrant dashi broth.
Located across from Uonotana Shopping Street, Akashiyaki Go is a specialty restaurant serving Akashiyaki made with authentic methods and carefully selected ingredients. The batter is made with 100% refined wheat starch known as “jin-ko.” With plenty of fresh eggs added, each piece is cooked in a highly conductive copper pan for a soft, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
The octopus used here is chewy Akashi octopus, raised in the fast currents of the Akashi Strait. The dashi is made without artificial seasonings, using only natural ingredients such as Rishiri kelp and a blend of two kinds of bonito flakes. In addition to the classic Akashiyaki, the menu offers a wide variety of fillings, including shrimp, cheese, beef tendon and konjac, and kimchi. Mixed options that let you choose according to your taste are also popular, and many say they are delicious even after cooling down.
It is also close to sightseeing spots such as Akashi Castle and the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, making it easy to stop by between sightseeing and shopping. It also offers light meals and takeout, making it a great place to casually experience Akashi’s food culture.
