This outdoor shopping area has the relaxed feel of a small American town, with shops lining the streets, making it comfortable to walk around and browse. There is a good selection of brands, with clothing, shoes, bags, and household goods available. You can plan to spend half a day here. However, most of the merchandise is from past seasons, and there aren't many attractive options if you're looking for designer bags or similar items.

A souvenir shopping zone right in front of the ticket gates at JR Nagasaki Station, bringing together Approx. 50 shops selling famous sweets, local specialties, and regional gourmet foods. It was developed in March 2022 to coincide with the opening of the Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen, creating a gateway to Nagasaki worthy of the city. Directly connected to JR Nagasaki Station, it is highly regarded for its excellent convenience not only by tourists using the station, but also by local residents.

Oranda-zaka is located in the Higashiyamate area and consists of stone-paved slopes from the foreign settlement that existed from the final years of the Edo period through the Meiji era. At the time, people in Nagasaki referred to all Westerners as “Dutch,” which is how the slopes got their name. Several classical Western-style buildings and vintage brick walls remain along both sides, creating a distinctly romantic foreign atmosphere. It's a great place for a stroll and photos, and can be visited together with Glover Garden.

Megane Bridge (Spectacles Bridge)

More than ten stone bridges were built over Nakajima river running across the central Nagasaki City, the Megane bridge is one of them and the oldest in Japan. In 1634, a monk, Mokusu-nyojo who was in the second generation of Kohfukuji Temple was said to build this bridge, 22m long and 3.65m wide, and the bridge has been designated as a national important cultural property.

This stone arch bridge was built during the Edo period. It got its name because the arches reflected on the water form two circles that look like a pair of glasses. When visiting, you can take a leisurely walk along the riverbank and admire the old stone bridge and surrounding streets from different angles. The reflection is especially beautiful on clear days.

Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum

A dome-shaped museum located on the low hill near the center of the explosion displaying 1500 preserved documents and personal mementos. You can get an easy understanding of atomic bombs with a design of exhibitions performing a plot with wishes for peace and also describing the devastating terrors of an atomic bomb and the history of nuclear weapons.

Through photographs, personal belongings, models, and survivor testimonies, the museum depicts Nagasaki before and after the atomic bombing and the suffering people experienced at the time. After visiting, it's hard not to feel heavyhearted. Seeing people who once led ordinary lives suffer from the atomic bombing makes you realize even more that history is not some distant story and serves as a warning to the world about the importance of peace.

A park spreads on the hill in Matsuyama-town, Nagasaki-city. At 11:02 a.m. on August 9, 1945, the bomb was dropped over this park. This park was established in 1951 to learn about the threat of an atomic bomb, to pray for the souls of victims, and to wish for eternal world peace.

The park's most prominent landmark is the 9.7-meter-tall Peace Statue. One hand points toward the sky, symbolizing the threat of the atomic bomb, while the other extends to the side, representing peace. Kakifukumaru is a direct off shoot of the popular Ogoe Suisan on Miyajima’s Omotesando Shopping Street. Just a 10-minute stroll from Miyajima Pier, you’ll know you’re at this oyster-haven by the blue curtain and banners and all the freshly harvested oysters waiting inside.
