Known as one of Japan's largest zoos, the grounds are so huge that by the end, my feet had me questioning my life choices! But because it's so spacious, the entire zoo is laid out very comfortably, without the crowded feeling of a typical zoo. It's incredibly relaxing to stroll around while looking at the animals.
What I liked most was how they thoughtfully have both indoor and outdoor exhibits for the same animals. No matter the weather, you have a chance to see them up close, and it's also easy to take photos. As you make your way through, you can see animals from all over the world, and the grounds are beautifully maintained. It really feels like taking a walk and visiting a zoo at the same time.
If you love animals and don't want to just rush through, Zoorasia is definitely worth setting aside at least half a day to explore at a leisurely pace!
Just one thing to keep in mind: the zoo is really big, so wearing comfortable walking shoes is important.

Komachi Street
After exiting the East Exit of Kamakura Station, there is a 360-meter road heading north with a red torii gate at the entrance. Along the road are about 250 stores, including restaurants and souvenir shops for tourists, as well as stores that serve the daily needs of local residents.
When you come to Kamakura, you definitely can't miss lively Komachi Street! From the entrance onward, both sides are packed with specialty souvenir shops, dessert shops, and restaurants. Eating as you walk really gives you that travel feeling. The wide variety of Kamakura specialties can be overwhelming, and there are also many cute little shops where you can take your time hunting for treasures. The street isn't very wide, but the atmosphere is very lively, especially on weekends and holidays when it's packed with people. When you get tired of walking around, find a place to sit down and enjoy some food while taking in Kamakura's most popular tourist district!

Enoshima
It's a tiny island at the tip of a sandbar that juts out to sea from a long sandy beach. It is known for its superb view of the sea of Shonan and Mt. Fuji.
Enoshima is one of the Shonan area's most iconic attractions and a place you shouldn't miss when visiting Kamakura and Shonan. When the weather is clear, you can take in the expansive coastline, and if you're lucky, you can even see Mt. Fuji.
The weather was great during this visit, with sunlight sparkling on the water and making all of Enoshima feel especially lively! Unfortunately, Mt. Fuji was a little shy and never appeared, but strolling along the island's winding paths, enjoying the ocean views, and visiting the shrines still felt very relaxing. -

Yasaka Shrine (Enoshima)
Tucked inside the grounds of Hetsumiya, Yasaka Shrine is a subsidiary shrine of Enoshima Shrine, dedicated to the deity Takehaya Susanoo-no-Mikoto. The key sacred treasure here was first enshrined across the bay at Koshigoe, but after being swept away by a great wave and sinking into the sea, it was retrieved by fishermen and re-enshrined on Enoshima.
A small shrine tucked away on Enoshima. Though it isn't large, it has a distinctive beauty typical of Japanese architecture. Yasaka Shrine, also known as “Enoshima Tenno Shrine,” is a subsidiary shrine of Enoshima Shrine and enshrines a deity associated with Susanoo-no-Mikoto.
There were fewer crowds here than at the main shrine, giving it a more peaceful and serene atmosphere. The copper-roofed, hip-and-gable shrine building looks especially charming against the green trees, simple and beautiful. -
