Mihama American Village blends American street style with local Okinawan character and truly has a charm all its own. It's not only packed with Americans but also with tourists. The distinctive buildings, streetscapes, food, and small shops combine an international atmosphere with Okinawan elements, making every corner photogenic.
During the day, the entire neighborhood is colorful in the sunlight and has a strong resort feel. Walking along the coast with the sea breeze blowing, you might almost feel like you're on the European coast.
Around sunset, I especially recommend taking a walk on the beach, enjoying the sea breeze and sunset. Kids can play in the water too, and the relaxed stroll is really pleasant.
At night, the scenery is completely different. Once the lights come on, the entire American Village sparkles and is filled with a Christmas atmosphere, making it even more romantic than during the day.
Pay attention to business hours at night! Many shops start closing after 8:00 p.m., and by 9:00 p.m., almost everything is closed. If you want to shop or eat, come a little earlier so you don't arrive excited only to find everything closed.
