While in Kurume, I also made time for a trip to Mount Kora! As I headed up the mountain, the surrounding views became more and more expansive, completely different from the bustle of the city. The route is surrounded by mountain forests, and the air feels especially fresh. It’s a great place to walk around and slow down.

Mount Kora itself has a strong sense of history and nature, and Kora Taisha Shrine is also located on the mountain. The whole area is very quiet and peaceful. Walking around the shrine, you can really feel the atmosphere of a Japanese mountain shrine, which is different from shrines in the city.

My favorite part was looking out from above, with the city of Kurume right before my eyes. When the weather is good, the view is very pleasant. The mountain scenery also changes with the seasons, making me really want to visit again.

Yodobashi Multimedia! The entire building is unbelievably huge, with everything from appliances, electronics, cameras, and phone accessories to household goods, beauty products, and toys. On your first visit, it’s easy to lose track of time while browsing.

What I like most is the huge variety of products, and you can compare many things all in one place. Whether it’s hair dryers, headphones, cameras, or all kinds of travel accessories, you can take your time choosing. It’s also very convenient for tourists, and you can check out the duty-free items while you’re there.
HULIC SQUARE FUKUOKA TENJIN

A large-scale mixed-use complex grandly opened in January 2025 in the heart of Tenjin, Fukuoka City’s premier downtown district. The 19-story building with three basement levels houses a wide range of facilities-including shops, restaurants, retail stores, offices, and a hotel-offering diverse ways to enjoy the space.

While shopping in Fukuoka Tenjin, I also stopped by to check out HULIC SQUARE FUKUOKA TENJIN! The entire building has a very modern look and is located in the Tenjin shopping district, surrounded by department stores, shops, and restaurants, so it’s easy to pass by while shopping.

This area really has the rhythm of downtown Fukuoka. The streets are lively without feeling overly crowded. After browsing the nearby malls, you can find a restaurant for a meal and then keep walking around and shopping. It’s a good choice for a half-day itinerary in Tenjin.

I especially like how you can take your time browsing around Tenjin, with everything from department stores to unique shops. When you get tired, you can find somewhere to rest and have a cup of coffee. You don’t need to pack your schedule too tightly to have a comfortable time.
