An Iconic Part of Tokyo Shining in Rainbow Colors

Rainbow Bridge—this was my first time enjoying the view of Tokyo Bay from here. The entire bridge, together with the bay and the city’s high-rises, creates a truly expansive view!

Unfortunately, I came during the day this time. Although I could clearly see the structure of Rainbow Bridge, I didn’t get the chance to see its illuminated “rainbow” colors at night, so it felt a little less romantic.

If I have another chance to visit Tokyo, I’ll definitely plan to come back at night and see Rainbow Bridge illuminated in person. I’m sure it will feel completely different from the daytime!

Lake Kawaguchi is one of the Fuji Five Lakes at the bottom of the highest mountain of Japan, Mt. Fuji. There, Hoto Fudo serves the famous local dish, hoto. In addition to this main shop, they have four more around the Lake Kawaguchi.

At Hoto Fudo's Kawaguchiko Kita Main Shop by Lake Kawaguchi, it was bitterly cold outside, so stepping into the restaurant felt especially wonderful!

I ordered a piping-hot bowl of hoto. It was still steaming when it arrived at the table, with wide noodles and plenty of vegetables. The broth was warming and filling, and a bowl on a cold day was truly comforting.

Especially after being out in the cold wind at Lake Kawaguchi for a while, I could really feel my whole body warming up. In weather like this, eating a steaming bowl of hoto is what makes traveling feel so satisfying!
SUNSHINE SAKAE

The building is located along Nishiki-dori, one of Nagoya's main streets, and features a Ferris wheel on its wall. The Ferris wheel, called "Sky-Boat," is 40 meters in diameter and reaches a maximum height of 52 meters above the ground.

When I came to SUNSHINE SAKAE, I originally just wanted to look around and take in the atmosphere. I didn’t expect to come across anime fans dancing on-site, and the whole place instantly became lively. Everyone dancing was perfectly in sync—it was really impressive!

Watching everyone perform enthusiastically to the music, quite a few people gathered around to enjoy the show as well. Unexpectedly catching this fun scene added a nice little surprise to the trip.

I was originally just passing by, but this impromptu anime dance performance made me stop and watch. It really feels like you can often come across memorable little scenes on the streets of Japan!
bills Odaiba

This is the third Japanese branch of 'bills', an all-day dining restaurant originating from Sydney, Australia. Particularly noted for their exquisite egg dishes, customers flock here from early morning for breakfast items like 'Scrambled Eggs & Toast' and 'Ricotta Pancakes'. Open from 9am on weekdays and 8am on weekends, it's perfect for a meal before sightseeing.

While shopping in Odaiba, I made a special trip to the very popular bills Odaiba. I was most excited to try their signature pancakes! When they arrived, they looked very fluffy and were served with fresh bananas. Just looking at them made me hungry.

The pancakes were soft and fluffy, and the bananas had a natural sweetness. Eating them together with the butter gave them a smooth, sweet flavor, while the bananas made the overall taste even richer.

The restaurant also has large windows that let in plenty of natural light. You can enjoy views of the Odaiba area while eating the pancakes, and the atmosphere is quite relaxing. It's a comfortable place to sit down and take a break when you're tired from shopping.
