Strolling slowly along the stone-paved street, you’ll see traditional machiya townhouses lining both sides. Without flashy signs, it’s even easier to appreciate Kyoto’s understated elegance. I couldn’t help slowing down along the way to take in the street views and snap some photos. Every corner felt like a Japanese landscape painting.

SUCREY's "Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory Cookie Assortment"
Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory is a popular confectionery brand known for sweets that blend nostalgia with innovation, using carefully selected milk and high-quality cheese. Their signature product is a crispy cookie sandwiching chocolate flavored with cheese.
When traveling in Japan, you can’t leave out all the delicious cookies when shopping for souvenirs! This time, I’m sharing the assorted cookie pack from SUCREY’s Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory. This brand is quite well known for Tokyo souvenirs, and even the packaging has a high-quality feel, making it perfect either as a gift or as a treat for yourself.
What’s most appealing about Tokyo Milk Cheese Factory is how it incorporates ingredients like milk and cheese into its cookies, creating distinctive flavors.

Black Thunder
This chocolate snack is very popular for its affordable price of 40 yen and deliciousness. Cocoa cookie and plain biscuit are coated with chocolate. You can taste the light bitterness of a cocoa cookie matched with the sweetness of chocolate. Crunchy texture and the volume which can fill your stomach lightly pleases you.
I think the biggest appeal of Black Thunder is that it's simple and delicious, plus it's affordable and easy to carry, making it a great souvenir from Japan. When shared with family and friends, it also easily becomes a little snack that everyone grabs for.

Otaru Canal
Otaru Port, which developed as a gateway for Hokkaido's settlement, saw an increasing volume of cargo over the years. To streamline its transportation, the "Otaru Canal" was completed in 1923 (Taisho 12). The canal, created by reclaiming the offshore coast, is characterized by its gentle curves rather than a straight line.
When traveling to Otaru, Hokkaido, you definitely have to visit the famous Otaru Canal! It is one of Otaru’s most iconic attractions, with historic stone warehouses preserved along the waterfront. Together with the canal and retro streetscape, they create a very romantic atmosphere. Walking along the canal, you can enjoy the scenery while taking in Otaru’s unique nostalgic charm, as if you’ve stepped into a time tunnel. There are also plenty of great photo spots along the way. Whether you admire the architectural details of the old warehouses during the day or watch the sunset reflected on the water in the evening, each offers a different kind of beauty. If you visit in winter, you may even get to see the riverbanks covered in white snow, which makes it feel even more romantic!
