Mitake Plum Grove Park
A park known as one of Kitakyushu’s leading plum blossom spots, where red and white plum blossoms bloom every year from mid-February to late March. It was once a tea garden belonging to nearby Goshouji Temple, and the park began when local residents planted plum trees to commemorate the marriage of Emperor Showa. In 1979, the city leased the land and opened it as a plum grove park.
This is a great place for a spring walk and flower viewing!
The whole hillside is filled with plum trees, and when they bloom, it’s unbelievably beautiful. The scenery feels soft, peaceful, and romantic.
The air is fresh, the walk isn’t too tiring, and you can enjoy the surrounding views too. During plum blossom season, the fragrance is everywhere, and it’s also an amazing place for photos.
Overall, it’s a natural, relaxing park that’s perfect when you want to take a breather. -
SoLaDo Takeshita Street
Located on the iconic youth culture hub of Takeshita Street in Harajuku, SoLaDo is a colorful fashion building spanning four floors-from the basement to the third floor. Inside, you'll find a wide range of “kawaii” items that teens love, including fashion, accessories, lifestyle goods, snacks, and sweets.
This place is a paradise for young people! There are so many trendy clothes, cute accessories, and dessert shops inside. The prices are pretty reasonable too, so it’s great for shopping and finding hidden gems. The whole vibe is lively and adorable—if you love Japanese fashion, you can’t miss it!

Shinagawa Shrine
Shinagawa Shrine was founded in 1187 as a place for marine traffic safety and prayer realizations. During the shrine’s annual festival, which takes place in early June every year, portable shrines called “mikoshi” are carried around town, and many people come to celebrate.
I thought it was pretty close, but it actually took me 20 minutes to walk from the station. Plus, there's a really steep staircase you have to climb.
