Ukai Toriyama

Ukai Toriyama is a Japanese Ryotei Restaurant surrounded by the nature of Okutakao that embodies the highest level of hospitality

Japanese cuisine

The building is in harmony with the clear air, nestled in the quiet mountain village of Okutakao where a clear stream flows, is built in the traditional Japanese architecture style of Etsunaka Gokayama Gassho. Carefully selected seasonal ingredients are grilled right in front of your eyes on the irori charcoal grill and the chef’s outstanding technique creates the finest fragrance and taste. In the beautifully landscaped Japanese garden, the seasonal nature such as sakura cherry blossoms in the spring and the changing leaves in the autumn further enhances the cuisine. On summer evenings, the dancing light of the fireflies which have become a rare sight in Tokyo can be viewed. You can experience the refinement of the good, old Japan here with your five senses at our ryotei restaurant.

  • The highest level of cuisine where you can savor the carefully selected seasonal ingredients prepared on an irori charcoal grill.
  • Superb hospitality where you can feel the warmth of people.
  • A beautiful space with Japanese gardens and architecture in harmony with the surrounding nature.
